We are a well-established, family-run, prestige car dealership based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, just five minutes away from exit 34 of the M1.

Since our establishment in 1975, we have developed a growing reputation for supplying the highest quality sports, prestige, luxury and 4x4 vehicles worldwide, and for excellent customer service.

Our 20,000 square foot showroom displays around 150 vehicles a month, which are sourced and purchased by our team of full-time professional buyers from main dealer groups and individuals around the UK, Europe and worldwide.

Our vehicles are then finely checked and prepped to an impeccable standard before being left in the hands of our passionate and knowledgeable sales team, who are always on hand to offer friendly, honest and expert advice.

THE TEAM

Mark Holland
Managing Director

Following the retirement of his father John Holland in 2011, Mark took over as managing director.

Very much the figurehead for the business, Mark's leadership has seen the company thrive year on year, with numerous expansions and award wins coming John Holland's way over the past few years.

A petrolhead since a very young age, Mark trained as a mechanic before eventually going on to bring his experience to his father’s company.

Tony Entwistle
Director

I ventured into the motor trade as a trainee salesman at Barnsley Volvo on the 1st March 1997 and swiftly progressed to Senior Salesman then Sales Manager and then General Manager by 2003 and was also heavily involved in purchasing the group’s used car stock. In 2005 I transferred to Sheffield Volvo to run the bigger city dealership. In 2007 after discussions with Mark Holland I gave up the Volvo career to establish the buying department at John Holland. In the following years we brought more high quality buyers in and established great relationships within the motor industry countrywide. In 2012 I took over as General Manager and with Mark Holland have grown the business to what it is today. In that time we have more than doubled our stock holding, added a state of the art workshop, improved the building, added a showroom and a boardroom, had 2 years as Sheffield United shirt sponsors, won Dealers Dealer of the Year at the National Used Car Awards, Won Trading Standards Customer Service Award 4 years in a row and I was named Used Car Dealer Principal of the Year 2018 again at the National Used Car Awards. Appointed Director 1st Sept 2020.

Having worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years, this has encompassed many roles from branch manager with a high street bank to covering most of the UK in a brokerage role. Customer service has always been at the forefront of every aspect of my role here at John Holland Sales. I never stop striving to make the John Holland Sales customer journey as exceptional as possible. I work relentlessly to carefully understand every customers exact requirements. Having 37 years of motor trade experience I started as a trainee back in 1986 at a body shop and then moved into car sales at a purpose-built Volvo dealership with a family-owned business and progressed over a 20 period to Business Manager, Sales Manager and Used Car Buyer with the same company before leaving to trade on my own.

After starting in the motor industry in 2001 as a showroom host, I progressed from a trainee salesman to sales manager at one of the largest Sytner Audi centres in the UK. I took up the role of Group Buyer in 2009, and was responsible for sourcing and supplying stock to twelve Audi sites across the UK. This involved purchasing in excess of 1,500 individually-selected vehicles over a period of three years.

Having joined John Holland as a member of the buying department in 2013, I have brought with me a wealth of experience and extensive knowledge of the Audi brand along with a comprehensive understanding and appetite for all premium sector vehicles.
