Rooting for Wilson in World Championship semi

We’re excited by the progress of world snooker number nine, Kyren Wilson, who has reached his maiden World Championship semi-final in Sheffield.

Kyren, a valued John Holland customer, progressed to the Betfred World Snooker Championship semi-finals at the Crucible after defeating Masters champion Mark Allen 13-6.

The 26-year-old from Kettering exacted revenge following his 10-7 defeat to Northern Irishman Allen in the Masters final earlier this year, and is now only two victories away from being crowned the youngest World Champion since 2005 – when Shaun Murphy, another John Holland customer, lifted the coveted trophy aged 22.

Wilson now faces Scotland’s John Higgins looking to qualify for his first World Championship final.

Peter Lefley, our business manager, said: “We’re rooting for Kyren when he takes on John Higgins for a place in the final and the opportunity to compete for snooker’s biggest prize.

“We’ve been really excited by Kyren’s progress, particularly in 2018 at the Masters and now the World Championship in the steel city itself, so we can’t wait to see how far he can go.”
