Peter fights to fundraise for Bluebell Wood

Our business manager will swap the showroom for the boxing ring in June to fundraise for a major children’s hospice.

Peter Lefley is fundraising for North Anston-based Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice by taking part in a First Class White Collar Boxing event at the Magna Centre in Rotherham on 9 June.

The 44-year-old is getting fighting fit at the renowned gym run by Sheffield boxing legend Ryan Rhodes, 26RR Fitness, in Sheffield city centre, as well as through training and coaching sessions led by close friend at JT Health and Fitness, Jordan Tunnicliffe.

Peter and Jordan have completed extreme fundraising activities together previously – most notably in 2016 when they ran the Hull Humber Bridge Half Marathon, raising more than £4,000 for terminally-ill youngster Harrison Parker to visit Disneyland.

The pair also took part in the Yorkshire Tough Mudder in 2017 to raise funds for Help The Heroes, which supports the British Armed Forces. Both Jordan and Peter are always looking for new ways to help local charities and this is another great challenge.

Peter’s latest venture will support Bluebell Wood, a charity which is a long-standing beneficiary of fundraising efforts by John Holland and our staff.

Ourselves and Supercar Driver – the nation’s leading supercar owners club – have both pledged their support to Peter’s challenge.

Peter said: “After completing the Hull Humber Bridge Half Marathon and the Yorkshire Tough Mudder, I wanted the next step to be something a little bit different.

“First Class White Collar Boxing certainly falls into that category. I’ve always been a boxing fan and wanted to take part in a fight myself, so for me this is a dream come true.

“It’s also a fantastic opportunity to raise money for an outstanding cause in Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. Over the years, John Holland has supported Bluebell Wood countless times through events and fundraising initiatives, and I wanted to go the extra mile.

“A huge thank you to John Holland, JT Health and Fitness, Supercar Driver, Kettle Black bar and Alphera Financial Services for their sponsorship of the kit I’ll be wearing during my fight. Hopefully I can go one further and take home a win, too!”

Mark Holland, our managing director, said: “We’re immensely proud of what Peter has achieved in the past three years. He’s always up for a challenge and we’ll be supporting him all the way in his latest exciting venture.

“We wish him all the best in June and will be helping him raise funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, an outstanding local children’s charity.”
