We scooped two awards at this year’s Trading Standards Retailer Awards.
Our dealership came away as the South Yorkshire Trading Standards Services regional winner for Sheffield, and Simon Parker, of our preparation department, won the Outstanding Customer Service award.
Simon was nominated for going ‘above and beyond’ after he drove to a customer who was stranded on the M1. The customer had suffered a puncture and was left on the motorway with several small children in the car.
Despite being out of hours, Simon travelled to the stranded motorist, changed the wheel and ensured the safe delivery home of the children that evening.
He also took bottles of water from work for the children and the next day he then replaced the tyre and refurbished the wheel for the customer, and then as an extra service drove the vehicle to the customer’s nursery.
The customer called our general manager Tony the next day and thanked John Holland, Simon in particular, for a great level of customer service.
Business and Marketing manager Peter Lefley, who attended the awards with Simon Parker on behalf of John Holland, said: “It is a fantastic achievement to come away with two awards today.
“Simon’s act of kindness is a very worthy winner of the customer service award, and the double award win rounds off a great 12 months for the company. We now look onwards and upwards, hopefully, to further award success.”
